Agnes Lee is a healthcare executive with more than 25 years at biotechnology, medical device, life science and diagnostic companies. Her experience encompasses team leadership, investor relations, strategy, finance and corporate communications. Currently, she is a Chief Officer of Public and Investor Relations for Cue Biopharma, Inc. Previously, she was a member of the executive leadership team at Acelyrin, Inc. and Inogen, Inc. and has also held executive leadership roles at Butterfly Network, Inc., Fluidigm, Inc., ResMed, Inc, Life Technologies, Applied Biosystems and Celera Diagnostics. Earlier in her career, Agnes was an investment banker at Banc of America Securities and Salomon Smith Barney and a commercial banker at Harris Bank/Bank of Montreal.
Agnes holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics and Affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Agnes grew up with music in Southern and Northern California and is a classically trained pianist. In her spare time, she has sung with church choirs in San Francisco, Carlsbad and Encinitas. She is a choral member of La Jolla Symphony and Chorus. Since 2014, she has also been a member of Sorelle San Diego, a program of San Diego North Coast Singers (SDNCS). Her daughter, Sophia Chan, is a SDNCS alumna and sang with all the ensembles over 11 years. Agnes brings her deep business and corporate governance experience along with her love of music to the SDNCS Board.
Heather Vadun is a dynamic accounting and finance professional with experience spanning nonprofits, technology, insurance, restaurants and public accounting. She specializes in financial reporting, general ledger close, budgets, forecasts and cash management.
Heather has served as Comptroller for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Del Mar for more than 10 years. There, she presents financial reports and insights to church leadership and supervises a team. She previously worked in various accounting roles at companies such as Intuit, Memec, RTM Restaurant Group and BDO Seidman. Her volunteer work includes multiple stints as PTA Treasurer or Auditor for Carlsbad public schools and the Carlsbad Unified Council of PTAs.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Montana State University and a California CPA certification (inactive). Heather is a longtime resident of North County San Diego and appreciates our vibrant local arts community. With experience in choral singing as a young person, Heather is delighted to bring her finance, accounting and strategic planning skills to San Diego North Coast Singers.
Erin Reid, M.D., M.S., is a Professor of Medicine at UC San Diego (UCSD) and a board-certified hematologist who specializes in clinical research and treatment of patients with a wide range of hematologic and HIV-related malignancies.
Erin enjoys serving in many educational, outreach, advocacy and research roles. At UCSD, she in principal investigator on several cancer research projects, Chief of Lymphoma Service at Moores Cancer Center, preclinical hematology clerkship director for the School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy, as well as core teaching faculty and chair of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Clinical Competency Committee. Nationally, she is founding Co-Director of the American Society of Hematology Medical Educators Institute, chairs research protocols and holds leadership roles within the AIDS Malignancy Consortium, and co-chairs the National Cancer Center Network guidelines: “Cancer in Persons with HIV” and “Kaposi Sarcoma.”
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stanford University, M.D. at the University of California, San Francisco, then returned to Stanford for an Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology Fellowship, where she concurrently earned her M.S. in Epidemiology and Clinical Investigation, then completed her Hematology fellowship at UCSD.
Erin is a trained musician and plays the piano, flute and cello. She is a member of San Diego North Coast Singers’ (SDNCS) Sorelle San Diego. Her daughter, Diana Reid, is a SDNCS alumna who sang with all the ensembles over five years. Erin brings her professional experience along with her love of music and education to her SDNCS Board position.
Miel Burnett has more than 15 years’ experience in choral management. She has held the positions of Operations Manager and Program Director for San Diego North Coast Singers (SDNCS). In these roles, she supervised all aspects of recruitment from scheduling auditions to managing enrollment. She also coordinated logistics for SDNCS-hosted festivals and managed choral performance tours to Colorado, West Virginia, New York and Cuba. She is most proud of her ability to foster valuable relationships with singers, families and volunteers.
A native of Southern California, Miel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of San Diego and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Miel is deeply committed to the significance of providing local youth with access to high-quality and meaningful musical experiences. Her daughter, Aislinn Lowenberg, is an alumna of SDNCS and sang with all the ensembles over 12 years. Miel brings her extensive experience in choral management and administration to her position on the SDNCS Board of Directors.
Melissa Dennis is a marketing consultant with more than two decades of experience in strategic planning, brand management and content marketing. She has helped a variety of companies in diverse industries achieve their marketing goals. Prior to managing her own business, Melissa served as Vice President at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in San Francisco and New York, where she supervised the firm's technology practice. In her tenure at Ogilvy, she created and implemented public relations campaigns for several of the world's best-known brands including Merrill Lynch and Sun Microsystems.
In her earlier career, Melissa coordinated public relations programs for the travel industry working with the New Zealand Tourism Board and the island of Grenada. Melissa earned a Master of International Affairs from UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy & Strategy. She received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and French from Wellesley College, where she graduated cum laude.
With a lifelong love of singing, Melissa has performed with the Juilliard Choral Union, San Francisco Lyric Chorus, Wellesley College Choir and Wellesley College Blue Notes. She currently sings with Sorelle San Diego, a group she discovered through her daughter, Amanda Swiecki, a member of San Diego Noth Coast Singers (SDNCS) from fifth grade through high school. Melissa strongly believes in the importance of SDNCS as a vital part of North County San Diego’s artistic landscape and is honored to bring her marketing and business acumen to the choral arts institution.
Jeanne Saier is an accomplished musician with a life-long career as a pianist and violinist. Jeanne was born into a musical family and raised in Palo Alto, California, where her parents and grandparents were founders of the Peninsula Symphony and the California Youth Symphony. Jeanne holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory and earned her teaching diploma from the Royal College of Music in London.
Jeanne was the founding collaborative pianist for San Diego North Coast Singers (SDNCS), retiring after 22 years of service, as well as a violinist in the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus (LJS&C) for 50 years. She has taught piano and violin privately throughout her adult life. Currently, Jeanne enjoys being on the Boards of Musical Merit and SDNCS, and she has chaired the committee for LJS&C’s Young Artist Concerto Competition for 45 years. She maintains her musical chops by playing chamber music with friends and the Klavier music club, and accompanying student recitals.
Jeanne feels passionately that the joy of music and participating with others in song often starts with children’s choir and that listening with gratitude is also a form of making and appreciating music. She is honored to bring all these musical experiences and her deep connection with San Diego’s rich musical community in service to her Board of Director position with SDNCS.
