Giocoso

The focus of our Giocoso beginning level choir is to help each chorister develop his or her healthy singing voice within a community of young singers. Weekly rehearsals incorporate singing games, movement and beginning solfege as an approach to musicianship and vocal exploration. Age-appropriate repertoire emphasizes developing healthy vocal tone production, vowel shaping, and breath support through unison singing. Introduction of solfege and score following is addressed, along with developing a confident stage presence. Giocoso participates in local performances including our popular Halloween caroling, and the choir performs both alone and in combined choirs at our winter and spring concerts. No training is required, we welcome all enthusiastic young singers!
