Michelle Risling earned her K-12 teaching credential and Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, choral emphasis, at California State University, Fullerton. There, she studied conducting and music education with Drs. Robert Istad and Christopher Peterson. She held section leader positions in both CSU Fullerton’s Concert Choir and Women’s Choir, and was a member of the Jazz Singers under Dr. Laura Harrison.
She is currently the general music and choir teacher at Temecula Preparatory School. She is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Southern California Vocal Association (SCVA) and the National Association for Music Education (MENC).
Michelle sang in North Coast Singers for ten years prior to college and has composed a song cycle for Caprice, which has been performed multiple times in years since.
