Giocoso (cheerful) introduces the joy of choral singing to 20 beginning singers in grades 2-5.
Directed by Paul Hayes and accompanied by Ronel Wishnuff, the focus of beginning choir is to help each chorister develop his or her own natural singing voice within a community of fellow singers. Weekly rehearsals incorporate singing games, movement and beginning solfège as an approach to musicianship and vocal exploration. Age-appropriate repertoire emphasizes unison singing, partner songs and rounds. Giocoso Choir participates in local performances and in combined choir winter and spring concerts.
Tuesdays, 4 to 5pm
No audition required for Giocoso.
